Man charged with having sex with child

David Durk, 54, of Bethel, Mo.

SHELBY COUNTY, MO. -- A Shelby County man is behind bars facing a sex-related felony charge following an alleged incident involving a minor.

David Durk, 54, of Bethel, Mo., is charged with first-degree statutory rape.

Shelby County Prosecutor Jordan Force tells KTVO that Durk is accused of having sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 14.

Durk is being held in the Shelby County Jail on $50,000 cash only bond.

His next court date is set for September 14 in Shelby County Circuit Court.
