OTTUMWA, IOWA -- It was a busy Sunday morning at the main campus of Indian Hills Community College, as hundreds of students moved into the dorms.
Indian Hills is one of a handful of community colleges in the United States that offers housing for their students.
According to IHCC's Dean of Students, Kelly Conrad, living on campus really helps enrich the students' experience.
"With the dorms, it really gives us a collegiate campus, and it is not just a commuter campus, although we have a lot of commuters. But, the commuters and the people that live in the dorms, they can enjoy the activities that we have and it really just enriches the experiences that the students have here with the activities," Conrad said.
The college has a whole week of activities planned for the students. On Monday, students will go through a new student orientation program, followed by an event showcasing the clubs and organizations active on the IHCC campus.
