Shooting in Fairfield leaves one dead, suspect in custody

FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- UPDATE: Jefferson County Sheriff Jerry Droz has informed KTVO that the victim in Saturday's shooting was Buddy Lee Frisbie, 32.

According to Sheriff Droz, he was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Tyler James Webster, 33, has been charged with First Degree Murder as a result of Saturday's shooting.

Webster's bond has been set at $2 million. As of Sunday evening, he remains in the Jefferson County Jail.

We have received word of funeral services for Buddy Lee Frisbie. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.


Below is the press release from the Jefferson County Attorney's Office concerning a shooting that took place just south of Fairfield Saturday evening.

The county attorney's office will release more information when it becomes available.

On Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 7:28 p.m. dispatch received a 911 call reporting a shooting that had taken place at 2469 Marigold Boulevard in Jefferson County, Iowa.  Deputies responded and found a deceased male subject who had sustained a gunshot wound.  The name of the victim has not been released pending the notification of his family.

Deputies arrested Tyler James Webster (date of birth August 19, 1979) of 2104 185th Street Fairfield, Iowa and charged him with First Degree Murder.  He is currently in the Jefferson County jail awaiting an initial appearance on Sunday.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Fairfield Police Department, Jefferson County Attorney’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, Jefferson County Police Reserves, Jefferson County Area Ambulance Service, state and local Medical Examiner’s Office, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
