BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- More than 100 car enthusiasts attended the 26th annual Ford Car Show at the Davis County Fairgrounds on Sunday to show off their prized possessions, from the very new to the very old.
“This is a 1969 Mustang convertible, a silver jade metallic in color which is the original color. I am second owner of this car -- sold originally in Pella, Iowa -- and I bought it off the original purchaser about 1981 so I’ve had it for a few years,” said Jerry Loynachan.
“This car, my husband built from scratch. It came out of a ditch and it's up to where it is now. It took about 15 years. It’s a '55 ford,” said Linda Brooks.
And many of the people compared the car show to being a kid in a candy shop.
“I really like seeing the real old cars and how the industry has changed up to the newer cars and there's a real -- we just got here and there's a huge variety here. There’s some real antique cars up to the newer later model cars and that's what I really like. And I really like the custom cars and their workmanship. That really fascinates me, as well,” said Mark Winkel.
