KIRKSVILLE, MO -- While Kirksville Public Schools started today, another school in Kirksville has its first day tomorrow.

Faculty and staff at Mary Immaculate Catholic Pre-School and School is preparing to welcome their students Thursday at 7:50 a.m.

The school has just finished summer renovations, which included a new classroom for 1st and 2nd Graders and landscaping on the playground.

Principal Sister Ruth Ann Klauser is hoping these changes will bring new encouragement for students to learn.

"I want each and every child to improve. Start where they are and just change and challenge themselves to grow and become better people and to draw closer to God," Klauser said.

The school is gaining 17 students this year for an enrollment of 80 students.

Students will be in school for a half a day Thursday, then will have their first full day on Friday.
