KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Some Heartland families had some summer fun, and it only cost them a dollar.

The Kirksville Aquatic Center held Dollar Day all day Saturday.

With it being the last Saturday the outdoor pool being opened for the season, kids and parents only had to pay a one dollar admission to the facility to enjoy and cool off in the water for one last time before heading back to school next week.

"I think it's great for the kids to have one last hora where they can have fun at the pool before school starts and really enjoy their time here," said pool supervisor Megan Turner.

The outdoor pool will still be open to the public through Tuesday before closing up for the season.

Everyone who works at the Aquatic Center said they saw good attendance throughout the summer months and that the season was a complete success.
