KIRKSVILLE, MO -- It was another successful year for the NEMO Fair.

According to NEMO Fair Board President Alan Whittom, about six to seven thousand people attended the fair every night.

Sales in day passes went up this year compared to previous years.

Despite the new wristband policy this year, sales in season passes were still good.

The biggest surprise for the board was the success of the addition of the NEMO Idol singing contest this year.

"It was huge. Everyone loved it. The building was packed. It was great," Whittom said.

The board is planning to make NEMO Idol now an annual event.

The concert series and the livestock shows also brought in big crowds.

The dates for next year's NEMO Fair is set for July 15-20, 2013.
