OSKALOOSA, IOWA -- The trial of an Oskaloosa man accused of killing a Davenport resident with a medieval style battle-axe has been delayed.

Bradley William Arterburn, 27, was expected to stand trial for First Degree Murder beginning on Aug. 7 in Mahaska County District Court.

But, after meeting with District Court Judge Lucy Gamon, prosecutors and defense lawyers agreed to delay the trial until Sept. 18.

Court records don't indicate the reason for the delay.

Arterburn was arrested in June of 2011 after police found 58-year old Robert Henry Horovitz at a residence on North Fourth Street in Oskaloosa suffering from wounds that were consistent with being struck with an axe.
