KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI -- The State of Missouri has a rich history when it comes to the Civil War; and this year marks the 150th Anniversary of the great war.

One great way that you can learn more about the war and about Missouri's history is by heading down to the Kirksville Arts Center.

From July 22nd until September 4th, the facility is hosting an exhibit called, "Civil War in Missouri - A State Divided."

The Kirksville Arts Council wants as many people throughout the Heartland to come down as possible.

"It is very exciting to have it here since it is the 150th Anniversary. They wanted to try and bring this to the area and it was perfect timing, so we are really enjoying it. We would love to have people come in and see what is available in the arts center. It is always something different," said Sharon Pritchard with the Kirksville Art Association.

Pritchard says that they will be having various kids activities in the coming weeks so that they can also learn about the history of the Civil War.

The exhibit is a smaller version of the one on display at the Missouri History Museum in St. Louis.
