LAPLATA, MISSOURI -- One person was injured Wednesday morning, when a semi and a train collided near LaPlata Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened when William Swetnam, 59, of Moberly, was driving his tractor-trailer rig westbound on Indiana Place, southwest of LaPlata.

The patrol says Swetnam apparently drove in front of the oncoming train. The train struck the passenger side of the truck.

Swetnam was flown by Air-Evac, to University Hospital in Columbia, where he is listed in good condition.
