KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- It’s a case of grass fire déjà vu!

A blaze in Kirksville that we told you about Tuesday night flared up again Wednesday afternoon.

Around 3:30 p.m., fire crews were once again called to a pasture south of the Cresthaven Trailer Court on the south end of Kirksville.

The smoke could be seen for miles as more tall grass went up in flames on property owned by Jim Hill.

A fleet of ATV's and firefighters armed with rakes attacked the flames.

Tuesday's blaze charred about five acres on the land near South Business 63, known by many as the "dual lanes."

Wednesday's fire blackened approximately another five acres on the same property.

At least one junk car burned up in the blaze.

Eastern Adair County Fire Chief James Snyder told KTVO at the scene Wednesday afternoon he believes a hay bale that burned Tuesday may have rekindled, sparking this most recent grass fire.

Firefighters had the latest blaze put out in about 45 minutes.
