KIRKSVILLE, MO -- If you were driving down Baltimore in Kirksville Thursday, you might have noticed a new addition in the construction area around South Baltimore Street.

”Barrel Bob” is now out to alert and remind drivers to take it easy when driving through construction sites.

“He was created out of 3M reflective tape, which is an eye catching material, our barrels, and also to emphasize our personal protective equipment we utilize every day. The main emphasis is to give positive reinforcement in the community that we are out here. We are out here to make a difference and to improve our highways, improve public safety," said MODOT’s Barrel Bob creator Corey Bringer.

Barrel Bob, is MODOT’s mascot and he will be waving his slow sign for the next couple weeks in Kirksville.
