Audience members were free to pose any questions they had. The Fairfield Career Academy was discussed in great length.

“Career strands -- that high school juniors and seniors can participate in. They will be in a separate building from their high school and the three strands that we have chosen -- because of surveys we've done with out local business industries -- is business and finance, industrial maintenance and health occupations,” said Tracy Vance, Executive Director of the Fairfield Economic Development Association.

Fairfield High School juniors and seniors will be able to start taking dual enrolled college courses.

“This will get them (students) on the road to developing the skills that would fix our skills gap here locally,” said Vance.

The Career Academy is expected to take effect at the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.
