OTTUMWA, IOWA -- The 34th annual Indian Hills Foundation Scholarship Auction was held at its North Campus Saturday morning.

Doors opened at 9 a.m. but people started lining up an hour before in hopes of being the first to view the thousand plus items on display at the auction.

“This is one of our main fundraisers, yes. We'll raise anywhere from $20-30,000 and so with a minimum scholarship we can generate 40 scholarships easily for a lot of good students,” said Rhonda Conrad, Executive Director of the Indian Hills Foundation.

You could find anything from autographed basketballs to a new car! Area businesses from Wapello County and surrounding communities donated gift certificates and even vacations.

More than 100 Indian Hills staff and students were busy setting up auction booths late Friday night preparing for the ever-growing event.

The common trend among those walking out of the auction were smiles on their faces and purchased items in their hands.
