The rain moved out of the area as we headed through the afternoon. Rainfall across the area was generally from .10”-.35”. At the station we received .25”.

With the rain out of the area, the back end of the clouds with the cold front is starting to move through the area. We will have Partly Cloudy skies in store for the evening. Mostly clear skies after midnight.

With clear skies and calm winds, low temperatures will drop into the low to mid 30’s across the area tonight. This will allow some patchy frost to form once again. Best chance will be North and West. Could see some patchy fog develop towards daybreak as well with the cold temperatures and warmer/wet ground.

In the Spring and Fall there are two types of advisories/warnings for freezing temperatures.
Frost Advisory - Widespread frost during the growing season. Temperatures are expected to drop down right around freezing. Generally just a light frost and does not last very long. Only minor damage to sensitive plants happens.
Freeze Warning - Widespread temperatures at or below 32 °F during the growing season. A freeze may occur with or without frost. A hard freeze occurs with temperatures below 28 °F. If a freeze happens, widespread damage or destruction of plants occurs.
This map below is the average date of our last freeze, below 28 degrees.

The map below is the average last date for frost. Temperatures right at 32 degrees.

High Pressure will move in for Easter and we will see pleasant conditions on the back side of High Pressure. Southerly winds will bring highs in the 60’s with plenty of sunshine. Heading into your work week we will see temperatures in the 50’s and more chances for frost. More on that in the next blog!
Have a great Easter everyone!
