Bank robbers plead to numerous robberies

WACO, TEXAS -- Three Heartland residents face time in federal prison following their guilty pleas in federal court in Texas. 

Jeffrey Heckman, 26, of Macon, pleaded guilty to three counts of bank robbery, two counts of bank robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of carrying a firearm during a crime of violence. Heckman admitted to stealing a total of approximately $33,000 during robberies of Preferred Bank in Brookfield and Merchants and Farmers Bank in Columbia, along with two other Missouri bank robberies and the robbery of a credit union in Texas. 

Jacob Norris, 24, of Macon, and Alexia Baker, 23, of Shelbyville, each pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery and one count of aiding and abetting a bank robbery with a dangerous weapon. They admitted involvement in the bank robberies in Columbia Missouri and Temple Texas.

The three were arrested by authorities in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and were deported back to the United States by Mexican authorities. The three are scheduled to be sentenced on May 2, 2012.
