MORAVIA, IOWA -- The Appanoose County Sheriff's Office released this video Wednesday evening regarding the house fire south of Moravia.

The Appanoose County Sheriff's Office told KTVO Wednesday night that the bodies of two victims were found in the rubble of the home earlier in the day.

The first was discovered around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The other was found at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

The sheriff's office says the two bodies have been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for a positive identification and to determine the cause of death.

The victim's names are being withheld until they're positively identified.

KTVO spoke with the Iowa State Fire Marshal's Office Wednesday afternoon.

According to Kyle Gorsch, who is with the State Fire Marshal's Office, no new information has been released to the public regarding the fire or the investigation.

Gorsch told KTVO that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Law enforcement officials in Appanoose County are continuing to investigate a house explosion that occurred Tuesday night. The incident happened at a residence on 250th Avenue near Moravia.

Appanoose County Sheriff Gary Anderson told KTVO they received a 911 call just after 10:00 Tuesday night, reporting the explosion and that it was believed the residents were still in the home. The house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, preventing them from entering to search for occupants.

A husband and wife, who were renting the home, were last seen about an hour earlier returning to the home. Sheriff Anderson says the occupants’ vehicles have been accounted for and it’s believed the couple was inside the residence at the time.

If you know the names of the victims, we ask that you do not post them. Thank you.
