Treece: not first incident involving a firearm

KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI -- The investigation by Kirksville Police into Friday nights shooting incident continues. 

KTVO has learned this was not the first time that use of a firearm has landed Tyler Treece in the legal system. 

Back on September 13 of this year, Treece along with Dakota Walker from Hurdland, each entered guilty pleas to a misdemeanor count of property damage. According to Knox County Assistant Prosecutor Jo Fortney, the incident involved the two teens shooting at signs near Hurdland Lake. 

Treece is accused of shooting into a vehicle containing three people Friday night, including an infant, striking one of them. Treece is facing five felony charges in connection with the Kirksville incident. he remains in the Adair county jail under $250,000 cash only bond. His next court appearance is set for Wednesday. 

In a bit of good news, KTVO also learned that the victim in the Kirksville shooting incident has been released from University Hospital in Columbia.
