KIRKSVILLE -- Only five percent of those who go under cardiac arrest live to tell about it, but when an A-E-D is put to use the chances of living increase by 60%.

The NEMO Heart Health and the community held their annual Gents and Joules Heart Gala on Saturday at the Catholic Newman Center in Kirksville.

The very snazzy formal included a silent and live auction, cocktails, dinner and dancing.

The money raised from the event will help raise money for A-E-D's to be placed around the area and give people the proper training to use them properly.

An additional 20 AED's were placed around the city of Kirksville in February of 2011.
