FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- One of the biggest media moguls in the world spent several hours in southeast Iowa Wednesday.

Oprah Winfrey was in Fairfield all afternoon.

Robert Lyons, the manager of Fairfield Municipal Airport, told KTVO Winfrey's private jet touched down around 11:15 a.m.

He said there were two black Suburbans waiting to pick her up.

Lyons said it was his understanding that Winfrey was paying a visit to the Maharishi School in Fairfield.

He said he saw no camera crews with Winfrey, but he said they might have been in different vehicles waiting for her at the school.

We were unable to reach school officials to learn the purpose of Winfrey's visit, but we do know that the TV host has quite an interest in transcendental meditation.

Lyons told us Winfrey boarded her jet and left Fairfield around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

He said her aircraft is the biggest to ever land or take off from Fairfield Municipal Airport.
