MACON, MO. -- UPDATE:
Authorities wrapped up a daylong manhunt Tuesday afternoon with one suspect still on the loose.
KTVO has learned the suspect taken into custody is Jimmy Hilt, 25, of Independence, Mo., but the other man is still at-large.
Police think the missing subject escaped the perimeter at some point and headed to the Kansas City area.
“We've got a lot of evidence and stuff that we have to process and we have a lot of leads that we have to follow up. The vehicle that they were using was a U-Haul truck that was stolen out of Kansas City that was recovered on scene,” said Macon Police Chief Steve Olinger.
Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. The missing suspect is described as being around six foot tall, weighing 220 to 250 pounds. Investigators said he was possibly wearing a green short-sleeved shirt, brown shorts and white tennis shoes when committing the crime, but they believe he has since changed his clothes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Macon Police Department at (660) 385-2062.
