SCHUYLER COUNTY, MO -- A longtime county employee has resigned her office following serious allegations.
Schuyler County Collector Kathy Roberts resigned Monday.
Scott Summers, the Schuyler County Prosecutor told KTVO that Roberts allegedly misappropriated more than $50,000.
This was discovered through a regular audit by the Missouri State Auditor.
The investigation is ongoing by the F.B.I. and Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug & Crime Control, along with the Missouri State Auditor's Office and the Schuyler County Prosecutor.
No charges have been filed.
Roberts was first elected to office in 1986.
A press release from Summers says that "appropriate action will be taken to recover as much of the loss as possible from Mrs. Roberts and bonds which she has carried through her terms of office."
