The decision has been made. Neither Kay Young, nor Katherine Mock will face the death penalty in their federal cases in connection with the murder of Young’s husband Melvin Griesbauer in March of 2006.

Both Young and Mock are charged with two counts each of conspiracy to commit murder for hire and two counts each of murder for hire. Griesbauer was killed outside of his residence in rural Adair County.

Both Kay Young and Katherine Mock remain in federal custody awaiting their trials in the case. No court date is currently scheduled in either case.
