KIRKSVILLE, MO --

A set of robo calls for a political campaign has upset hundreds of Northeast Missouri residents.

Several different calls are going around with the caller ID incorrectly showing that the call is coming from the Adair County Ambulance District. One calls asks that voters support State Representative Rebecca McClanahan in order to further President Obama’s agenda.

ACAD is not involved with this robo call, and spent hours today talking with concerned citizens.

“We've been very concerned about the situation for the fact that anyone that is receiving calls that come from an ambulance district, your first thought is that a loved one is hurt,” said Administrator Larry Burton.

Neither State Representative Rebecca McClanahan nor her opponent, Zachary Wyatt, know anything about how the phone calls got started.

McClanahan told KTVO the calls have been going around the entire state, with names of different people running for office.
