ETHEL, MO -- A fundraiser at the Santa Fe Restaurant in Ethel, Missouri, on Saturday really brightened the spirits of one heartland FFA member and her family.  Nearly a month ago, Cheyenne Gaul, her parents, and two siblings lost almost everything in a fire.  Gaul, an active FFA member, will be a junior at Macon County High School in the fall.

National FFA Advisor Larry Case was on hand to present Gaul with a new FFA jacket along with pins and awards lost in the fire.

“Things just fell into place and I said I want to meet Cheyenne” said Case.  “This is what FFA is all about, is making the day for our FFA members and if we can do something at the national level to do that, we sure want to do it.”

Gaul credits the FFA for molding her into who she is today.

“When I got in to FFA it gave me a reason to keep my grades up” said Gaul.  “It gave me a reason to get out there and do stuff that I usually wouldn't do.”

Case also brought several boxes filled with clothing, blankets, backpacks, and even a few stuffed animals for the family.
