WAYLAND, MO. -- A northeast Missouri woman who had been missing for a week was found dead in her own home on Friday, June 18.

We received new information on the story on Monday, June 21.

Clark County Sheriff Paul Gaudette told KTVO the body of Susan Heath, 59, of Wayland, Missouri was found by a family member around noon this past Friday.

Gaudette said Heath's body was discovered in a back room that she used for storage.

He said the body was on the floor "tucked under a shelf" out of sight.

Gaudette told us authorities don't suspect foul play, but there were enough unanswered questions, his office called in the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control to help with the investigation.

An autopsy was conducted Saturday afternoon.

A cause of death is still unknown, but Gaudette said the medical examiner told him that right now there's no evidence to indicate Heath was harmed.

The sheriff said Heath's family is pretty convinced she suffered from schizophrenia, although that has not been medically confirmed.

Officials are still waiting on toxicology results to rule out an overdose.

Further testing will also be done on Heath’s organs.

The last time someone saw Heath alive was June 11.

Her family reported her missing June 14.
