KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A historic landmark falls victim to fire.

Crews were called to the Charles Still mansion or Atlas Clubhouse at 218 South Osteopathy in Kirksville around 6:30 Monday night.

Smoke could be seen miles away from the historic building.

When we arrived on scene fire fighters from around the area were trying to control the smoke.

No injuries were reported.  Fire crews didn't leave the scene until 2:30 Tuesday morning.

The building was constructed in 1912 when Dr. Charles Still, son of Andrew Taylor Still lived there with his family.

The mansion was unoccupied but is owned by the Atlas Club.

KTVO now knows that the fire was intentionally set.

We will continue to update you as information becomes available.
