MACON,MO -- Commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, Captain John W. Elliott, announces that Troop B officers will be conducting Selective Traffic Enforcement Operations on U.S. Highways 61 and 63, throughout the Troop B area, on February 12, 19, and 26.

During these enforcement operations, which will be held from noon to 8:00 p.m. each day, extra officers will be scheduled to patrol the affected areas with a goal of detecting hazardous moving and speed violations that contribute to traffic crashes.

"The number of traffic crashes and fatalities were reduced drastically last year in Missouri," said Captain Elliott. "The Patrol will be conducting numerous traffic enforcement operations throughout the year to help continue the trend."
