BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- The city of Bloomfield is prepares for another election.  Incumbent Sam Eakins is up against challenger Chris Miller on the December first runoff for mayor.

The two men were the two highest vote getters but did not get the 50 percent plus one needed.

Both candidates are telling voters to make it out to the polls one more time.

“That’s more important now than ever, says Eakins.  “I know there’s people that I’ve talked to that didn’t get out and vote or didn’t have time to make it to the polls that need to get out and vote this time.”

"I'm hopin' that the turnout will be about the same or even possibly more, says Chris Miller.  “(I’m) just stressing to everybody that I meet that you need to get out and vote at least one more time.”

Davis County Auditor, Linda Humphrey, says the county is trying to cut back on how expensive the runoff will be.  The last time Bloomfield had a runoff, it cost the city more than $2,000.
