OTTUMWA -- Ottumwa High School has a new grading policy. The new quota allows students to redo any big exam. The student must however meet with the teacher either before or after school to redo the exam.
One parent wrote a letter saying the idea lacks family values and personal responsibility. Principal Steven Hanson disagrees.
“We share these same family values and we believe that the redo policy actually does speak to those standards,” said Hanson.
Under the new program all teachers must allow students the opportunity to redo an exam.
