MARSHFIELD, MO. (AP) -- Four Amish bishops were charged Tuesday with not reporting a sexual crime against a child allegedly committed by a member of their community in southern Webster County.

Webster County officials say the bishops were each charged with one misdemeanor count of failure of to report a sexual crime against a child.

Those charged were Christian J.F. Schwartz, 40; Jacob P. Schwartz, 79; Emmanuel M.S. Eicher, 44; and Peter M. Eicher, 59. Prosecutors say the bishops did not report alleged sexual abuse by Johnny W. Schwartz of Seymour.

Schwartz was charged in mid-October with six counts involving sexual abuse of children. His wife, Fannie Schwartz, has been charged with not reporting the abuse.
