MACON, MO --

A two week investigation ends in the arrests of four people on felony drug charges. Macon County sheriff's officials told KTVO Thursday the arrests came after the investigation into theft of anhydrous ammonia.

Nicole Fraley, 32, and Tracy Miles, 39, both of Kirksville, were arrested. They are charged with felony counts of stealing anhydrous ammonia and resisting arrest. Also arrested was Clinton Munn, 19, of Atlanta on felony charges of stealing anhydrous ammonia and resisting arrest.  Christopher Link, 27, of Moberly, was arrested on a felony charge of providing a precursor for manufacturing a controlled substance.

Bond has been set at $40,000 cash for each of the four arrested.  The Macon County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the North Central Missouri Drug Task Force in the investigation.

If you read my post, you'd see that I'm not blasting the families of those in this story. I'm calling it like it is. The consequences are for those who use drugs or abuse alcohol. It's a fact of life that eventually substance abuse will ruin their lives but it's up to the families to decide if it's going to ruin theirs. I've been involved with someone who was/is an alcoholic. I'm also an advocate for Al-Anon. Al-Anon is for the friends/family of someone who uses drugs or abuses alcohol. I highly recommend it if you are not in the meetings. They meet 3 times a week and are open to anyone. They accept a donation but do not charge anyone to attend. Please think about it. These group meetings can change your life.

Yes it is embarassing to us family memebers because about 98% of our family does not do this stupid crap, however it is not our fault, and nor should it be a consequence to us! And yes, I am embarassed to even put my name on here to tell you which one i am related to! So please, don't go and say it is a consequence for the family on here. We shouldn't be punished for their actions! We already are punished for their names being publicized on here, and i am glad that they are off the steets too!

Embarrassment/Shame

But that's part of the consequences for getting involved in the world of drugs and alcohol abuse. When people let drugs/booze rule their lives, they are going to LOSE everything that is valuable to them at some point. Most families will get their fill of the addict's behavior at some point. I was involved with a guy who was a severe alcoholic and to this day he continues to drink and causes his loved ones to suffer for his addiction. How he's kept his job is a wonder to me--at some point, he will likely lose it and he will only have himself to blame. I don't know either of the 2 women in this story but they need to have some embarrassment & shame in order to clean up their acts. If they continue in this lifestyle, they will be in jail for good at some point or dead due to their addictions. After a while, people no longer have any sympathy for those who refuse to help themselves. And while these 2 might have families who care about them, I also know the other side of needing to wash your hands of someone who continues to make selfish & irresponsible choices in life. The truth hurts but is better than living in denial.

remember their family

Before everyone judges and posts ugly comments, please remember that somewhere these 4 people have families that are feeling the embarassment and shame of their actions. I'm sure they have moms, dads, siblings and other families that need support too.
