People should be aware of where the epidemic is hitting currently.

I truely believe in the vaccines being given to those most vulnerable, specifically pregnant women, very young children under 5 years old, those with chronic illnesses, such as asthma, COPD, etc., children through teen years, then young adults to 25-30 years old, and then others. I and my immediate family do not qualify under this category, because my husband and I are in the age group around 40 years and our children are 5 and almost 8 years old. I am completely fine with that. My son just had this H1N1 virus last week. It was stressful and worrisome at times due to high fever and cough, but he is all better. In his class over half the students were gone on any given day last week and the week before. This seemed to be the case for much of the elementary classes. Some had 25% - over 50-60% of their students gone. It's something the healthy people need to be aware of, but to not panic, DEAL with the epidemic and we as a human population will get throught this, just as we did in 1968, and the epidemics previous to that. Get plenty of rest, and watch for signs of illness and stay home when sick. I do wish the news would report on which schools are currently being affected. I think it would be helpful to be informed of where the epidemic is hitting hardest and when. It seems to be running a 2-3 week course from first person getting sick to last being sick. Most of the children I know of who have been sick are now fine and returning back to school. These are my thoughts on what is currently going on at least in the Green City / Green Castle community.

Surprise, surprise no more flu vaccine. Could it be enough wasn't ordered? We haven't been able to get a flu shot in Sullivan County yet, always go to Kirksville and pay 25.00 for it. We used to call there and ask when a flu clinic was going to be held and every time we were given the "I don't know yet answer and we have watched the paper and don't see anything". We have always supported enteties such as them, but will not in the future.

i work in one of the local nursing homes. i and many of my coworkers are wondering why we havent been some of the first to recieve the h1n1 vaccine as you cant get a much more vulnerable group of people than us or the people we take care of. i shudder to think of what would happen if there should be an outbreak in our facility.
