MACON, MO. -- It was a record setting day at the Macon County Fairgrounds.  More than 600 people drove through the long line of cars to receive the seasonal flu vaccine.  That's the most patrons to come to the clinic in its three year history.

“H1N1 has made a lot more impact for the push of getting vaccinated so we've had almost 300 so far this morning.  Last year we gave a little over 300 doses, the year before we gave 485,” said Incident Commander Cindy Malloy, R.N.

Not only do Macon County Health Department employees assist in the clinic, but volunteers from Macon and surrounding communities also participate.

Students from Truman State University and the University of Missouri were on site to vaccinate residents.
