Local woman wins statewide ag award

I'm from Southeast Iowa, and I grew up watching KTVO. How exciting it was for me to join the News Team that I watched as a kid.

KIRKSVILLE, MO --  

A local woman is recognized for her work in Missouri agriculture.
    
Andrea Jackson of La Plata, was named Missouri's Outstanding Woman in Agriculture at this year's Women in Agriculture Conference. Jackson is passionate about agriculture education, which is part of the work she does as owner of Jackson Country Connection.

“This is what we do here on our farm with our new endeavor of the corn maze and pumpkin patch. It simply is an educational component for all individual to understand the importance of food, fiber, fuel production that we have and how much of a necessity it is for society,” Jackson said.

Jackson has been involved with agriculture her entire life. She was nominated for the award by the Adair County Soil and Water Conservation District.
