I'm from Southeast Iowa, and I grew up watching KTVO. How exciting it was for me to join the News Team that I watched as a kid.

KIRKSVILLE, MO --

A Hurdland, Missouri woman decided to be a little daring for her upcoming birthday. 75-year-old Anna May Hunziker took a dive in the sky Saturday at the Kirksville Regional Air Festival.

“Why'd I want to do it? I just do. I don't know. I love carnival rides, used to jump out of hay lofts. I've always wanted to do this because we used to fly and I thought, why not jump? Other people do it older than I am,” Hunziker said.

The experience was even more special because her granddaughter was with her every step of the way.

“Didn't surprise me one bit that she wanted to do it. That's how she is, spunky grandma,” said Devon Breitling.

So what was the hip grandmother thinking right before she jumped?

“I was afraid I was gonna fall out without him ,but he was tied on to me. I couldn't get away from him,” Hunziker said about her tandem instructor.

It was a successful dive with a smooth landing.

“It was exciting, wonderful, didn't take my breath or nothing, it was great,” Hunziker said.

And it was so much fun, the spitfire Anna Mae says she'd definitely do it again.
