Macon Missouri Police report 9/1/09

MACON, MO. -- On 08/16/2009, police arrested Gregory A. Tolson, 18 of Macon, for littering in the 800 block of South Rollins Street.  Tolson was released pending a municipal court date.

On 08/18/2009, police arrested Curtis L. Owen, 22 of Redbud (IL), for driving while intoxicated, driving while license revoked and careless driving.  Owens was transported to the Macon Police Department for processing and was later placed on 24-hour hold at the Macon County Jail.  Formal charges were filed and bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety.  Owen later posted bond and was released pending a Division II Court date.  Also, a passenger in the vehicle, Steven M. Underwood, 31 of Ruma (IL), was arrested for possession of under 35 grams of marijuana.  Underwood was processed and released pending a municipal court date after posting the required bond.

On 08/26/2009, police arrested Casey Kuiper, 20 of Macon, for minor in possession of alcohol.  Kuiper was transported to the Macon Police Department for processing and was later released pending a municipal court date.

On 08/27/2009, victim reported that a theft had occurred overnight (08/26-08/27).  It was reported that four vehicle tires and wheels were stolen from a residential property in the 600 block of West Malone Street.  The items were valued at approximately $550.00.  This case remains under investigation.

On 08/27/2009, police arrested Jay D. Tavenner, 45 of Fordland (MO), for possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of under 35 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while intoxicated by drugs.  Tavenner was processed at the Macon Police Department and later placed on 24-hour hold at the Macon County Jail.  Formal charges were filed and bond was set at $12,000.00 cash only.

On 08/29/2009, victim reported that a theft had occurred during the overnight hours of 08/28-08/29.  It was reported that an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the victim's purse.  The incident occurred in the 300 block of Pearl Street.  This case remains under investigation.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
