BURLINGTON, IOWA (AP) -- Officials say a Burlington woman pulled from her burning home over the weekend has died.
The fire was reported about 1 a.m. Sunday. When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting out of the windows of the two-story.
Firefighters found 44-year-old Alphera Brown inside. She was taken to a hospital in West Burlington, where she died.
Battalion Fire Chief Matt Trexel says Brown was not the only person who lived at the house, but she was the only one home at the time of the fire.
An autopsy is pending.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
