KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A Kirksville woman is dead after a two-car crash in Kirksville, Mo., Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Potter and Baltimore. Kirksville Police tell KTVO it appears a red Escort driven by Kenneth Gillespie of Kirksville, Mo., was headed north on Baltimore when it attempted to turn onto Potter and pulled into oncoming traffic.
A passenger in the Escort, 80-year-old Amelia Gillespie of Kirksville, Mo., was injured in the crash. She was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center where she later died.
The driver of the other vehicle, 22-year-old Kevin Phelps of Greentop, Mo., was injured in the crash. Phelps was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment.
