FREMONT, IOWA -- In the City of Fremont, between seven and eight inches of rain accumulated over a two-day period, which resulted in saturation throughout the area with standing water in fields, front yards, and even some basements.
On Friday, KTVO spoke with Bruce Caves who is the Director of Public Works. He said the flooding is due to the recent rainfall on top of the high water table.
"Yeah, we're pumping it out now, and then we'll pump some ditches out and try to get it to where it's away from the footing tiles so it's not going into houses," Director Caves said.
If anyone in the Fremont area has had problems resulting from flooding, they are asked to contact the Fremont City Hall at 641-933-4317.
