KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A Kirksville native is set to appear on a popular television series this fall.

Ben Browning grew up in Kirksville, and he's going to be a contestant on Survivor 19: Samoa starting next month.

Browning now lives in Los Angeles where he is a bar supervisor and drink mixologist.

He's the son of Dr. Glenn Browning of Kirksville.

We tried to talk to Ben about his experience on Survivor, but his sister says his contract prevents him from discussing the show.

Wow just a towner you are a big downer.. Why not be proud of our local boy being on tv.. Sometimes our thoughts should be left at that, just thoughts, instead of letting it fall out of your mouth.

You go Ben and I hope you did well!!

Bragging Rights?

This is hardly something to brag about. I consider reality TV to be phony reality where people are made fun of and made-up drama is sold to advertisers as entertainment. I won't watch any reality show even if it's someone from Adair county on it. This isn't something to be proud of.

Thanks Kirksville
