UNIONVILLE, MO. -- A longtime hospital CEO has been fired.

The Putnam County Memorial Hospital Board of Directors announced Wednesday that Ray Magers is no longer the CEO of the Unionville hospital.

No one would give us the reason for the decision, but we do know a number of employees were upset with the way Magers was running the hospital.

Magers had held the position for 10 years.

Deanna Nobis has been named acting CEO. She will hold the job on an interim basis while the hospital board searches for a new CEO.

The board is meeting Friday to discuss the hiring process.

Nobis told KTVO she has worked at Putnam County Memorial Hospital for six years, serving as Magers' executive assistant.
