BRASHEAR, MO --

A kitchen fire broke out Sunday afternoon at 108 Oak Lane in Brashear, Missouri.

A resident of the home was cooking and the stove caught fire when left unattended. The fire was put out by the Eastern Adair County Fire District. The Novinger Northern, Southwest, and La Plata fire departments assisted. The Adair County Ambulance District and Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.

Novinger Northern Fire Chief John Wise told KTVO that no one was injured in the blaze, but it did cause smoke damage throughout the house.
