LINNEUS, MO. -- The former city clerk accused of embezzling from the small Linn County community of Bucklin was in court Thursday.

Kyra Brehm, 44, of Marceline is charged with the felony of stealing over $25,000 from the City of Bucklin.

Investigators allege that while Brehm was city clerk, she stole in the neighborhood of $35,000.

On Thursday, Brehm's case was moved up to Linn County Circuit Court where she's scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Monday, August 10.

Brehm resigned as Bucklin city clerk in mid-March while she was suspended as an investigation into missing money was conducted.
