Lt. Governor to visit Van Buren County

OTTUMWA, IA -- Lt. Governor Patty Judge’s Travel Iowa ’09 will enter Van Buren County on Tuesday August 4.

During the tour, the Lt. Governor will call on Iowans to stay around home this summer, and in the process invest their money in Iowa’s communities to support local businesses and jobs.

Lt. Governor Judge began the tour in Des Moines on July 1st, and has traveled to nearly 30 different communities statewide in the last two weeks.

Over the course of the summer, the Lt. Governor will visit 67 attractions and events statewide, and is asking Iowans to come join her on the tour when it is in their area.

Here, Iowans can learn more about the places and events the tour will visit, find resources for planning their own vacation, and see blog entries from the Lt. Governor.

The Lt. Governor will arrive at the Bonaparte Inn at 5:15pm on Tuesday August 4 where she and her entourage will enjoy the evening.

They will arrive in Bentonsport at 8:00am on Wednesday August 5. Betty Printy, owner of Iron & Lace will welcome the Lt. Governor.

There will be several artisan demonstrations, free coffee & donuts will be available at the Greef General Store and they'll conclude the Van Buren County portion of her itinerary at the Indian Artifact Museum at 8:30am. Everyone is invited to attend.

The August 5 itinerary also includes Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts in Fairfield, American Gothic House in Eldon, Tassel Ridge Winery in Leighton and Pella Historical Village.
