MEMPHIS, MO -- Fire officials say lightning is to blame for a fire in Scotland County Friday afternoon.
When crews arrived at the Jim Johnson property northwest of Memphis they saw heavy smoke coming from upstairs.
Five fire trucks and 15 firemen worked for four hours to put out the blaze.
No one was injured in the fire, but the house did suffer heavy water and smoke damage.
Scotland county Fire Chief Bryan Whitney met with the state fire marshal's office Saturday.
The fire Marshall determined that lightning started the blaze based on electrical evidence collected at the scene.
