MACON, MO --
After an ongoing investigation into the theft of anhydrous ammonia in New Cambria, a Heartland man is now behind bars.
On May 23, the Macon County Sheriff's Department arrested 47-year-old Gregory L. Siemens of New Cambria for the attempted theft of anhydrous ammonia and possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container. The farm chemical is one of the key ingredients in meth.
“A deputy came by there and saw the subject leaving the anhydrous facility and we had enough information to get arrest warrants for the individual, went and served the warrants on him, took him into custody, searched his residence, found enough evidence there to also charge him with intent to manufacture methamphetamine,” said Macon County Sheriff Robert Dawson.
Siemens is being held in the Macon County Jail on $50,000 cash only bond.
