NEW CAMBRIA, MO. -- A Heartland man is behind bars after authorities say he stole anhydrous ammonia.

Macon County authorities tell KTVO they saw 47-year-old Gregory Siemens of New Cambria, Mo., driving out of the MFA anhydrous ammonia tank yard in New Cambria at 7 a.m. Saturday. Officers followed Siemens to his home where he was identified as a suspect in an ongoing investigation of anhydrous ammonia theft.

Siemens is charged with three counts of theft of anhydrous ammonia, three counts of possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container and three counts of driving while revoked. Siemens is currently being held in the Macon County Jail on a $50,000 cash only arrest warrant.

Authorities say additional charges are pending.

Local Man Charged

I hope that this man stays behind bars for a long time. He is dangerous and the world will be a little safer without him on the streets. I hope the others that were involved get there time also. We need to keep this drug off the streets. It used to be that you heard about this problem in the big citys. Not anymore. It is scary that it could be at anyone of our back doors and we don't know it. We need to stick together just like the drug dealers and PROTECT WHAT IS OURS AND WHAT WE HAVE WORKED FOR. WE NEED TO MAKE A STAND THAT WE WILL NOT PUT UP WITH THE STEALING AND THE DRUG MAKING IN OUR COUNTY OR OUR TOWNS! I praise the sheriff's department for not giving up on this bad guy. Your department did a great job, keep up the good work!
