SULLIVAN COUNTY, MO. -- A late night traffic crash sends a local man to the hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night on Highway 5, one mile south of Milan, Mo. Christopher Englert, 38,  of Unionville, Mo. was hospitalized after the vehicle he was a passenger in swerved to avoid a deer and struck an embankment. Englert was taken to Sullivan County Hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, Englert’s 16-year-old son Jessep was not injured in the crash.
