BRASHEAR, MO -- Whether he's hitting the books or the basketball court, Brashear High School Senior Kiley Watson is always at the top of his game.

“Well Kiley is a very motivated individual. You don't have to worry about telling him about something twice. He is very much a perfectionist, wants to do well. He works extremely hard. His work ethic is one of the best I've ever had,” said Basketball Coach Don Wilburn.

He's academically leading his class, but he's a leader in more ways than one.

“I’m President of my senior class, President of NHS and President of FBLA. I'm also involved in renaissance and art club, and I do basketball and baseball for sports,” Watson said.

He'll miss his teammates, but is looking forward to the new challenges that college will bring.
“Next year I plan to attend Northwest Missouri State University, which is in Maryville. I plan to major in business and most likely get a minor in Spanish.

To get a taste of the business world, Kiley spends an hour each day interning with the school's accountant. He says the secret to success is a balance between academics and athletics.

“As far as my high school career, it’s definitely been fun between competition and athletics but also in academics. It's always been you know, challenging the whole way through, but I kinda liked that and definitely all the friends and teachers and everything in Brashear. Everyone's really personable so I've enjoyed it the whole time so I don't have any complaints, “Watson said.
